A Winston-Salem man was being held on a $1 million bond following his arrest Tuesday on charges including statutory rape, indecent liberties and other offenses involving a 12-year-old girl.

Joseph Dion Mashack, 39, of the 3600 block of King Hill Drive was charged with the following offenses, all felonies: two counts of first-degree statutory sex offense, one count of statutory rape of a child by an adult and three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child.

Police said the multiple offenses of sexual contact with the girl occurred during the summer of 2017, as early as June 25.
