A depraved teenager who allegedly subjected a vulnerable pensioner to an horrific sex attack before beating her to death told officers he did it because he was bored.
The vile crime has left hardened detectives shaken after Nancy Ann Krapfl, 66, was found fighting for life with her injuries sustained in the appalling incident.
Helmon Betwell from Dubuque, Iowa, allegedly told officers he launched the random attack because there “was nothing better to do.”
He said the victim was in the “wrong place at the wrong time”.
Police told local news that the woman was found lying on the ground in a residential area with severe facial injuries.
Documents show that Betwell was taken to the Dubuque Law Enforcement Center and admitted to seeing the woman, knocking her out and that he continued to “hit her everywhere” and have sex with her.
The teenager then told investigators that when he returned to the scene after going home, he noticed the woman had crawled into the grass, and he began to strike her again.
He left her lying there naked and returned home.
She was later discovered but despite the efforts of hospital medics, she soon died.
It’s claimed no weapons were involved, and that local woman Ms Krapfl, 66, most likely was beaten to death.

You may place the meat for several hours in a marinade, I enjoy the sassaties sauce or marinade, or you may rub it all over with a cut clove of garlic.
Rub the meat with:
Butter
Melt in a heavy pan:
¼ cup fat or drippings
Brown the meat in it on all sides. Add:
4 cups boiling stock
Cover the pot. Simmer the meat until tender, allowing 30 minutes to the pound.
Add boiling water, if necessary. After the meat has cooked for 1 hour, add:
2 small whole onions
3 peppercorns
3 cloves
A sprig of thyme or ½ teaspoon
dried thyme
½ bay leaf
When the meat is tender, remove from the pot. Season with:
Salt
Place the meat where it will remain hot.
Serve with caper sauce, and pureed turnips, and a red bordeaux wineserved at room temperature.
