Well, so far so good.

Fingers crossed that Trump has the tact not to bring Bolton into Kim’s presence and this whole thing goes off beautifully.

Politico:

The White House said Monday that discussions between the U.S. and North Korea “have moved more quickly than expected,” while apparently removing the possibility — for now — that President Donald Trump’s meeting with Kim Jong Un could extend into a second day.

In a statement sent roughly 12 hours before Trump and Kim are to sit down, the White House said the two leaders will participate in a one-on-one meeting, accompanied only by translators, to be followed by a “working lunch” with an expanded group of officials. That broader delegation will include National Security Adviser John Bolton, who has chafed the North Koreans with his hawkish and deeply skeptical view of the negotiations.

The White House also said that at the conclusion of the meeting, Trump will take part in a media availability at 8 p.m. local time, before flying back to the United States. Previously, the White House had appeared to hold open the possibility that the meeting could stretch into a second day if the talks were going well.

Still, the statement had an optimistic tone about the historic sitdown, which follows days of talks between high-level officials on both sides about denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

“The discussions between the United States and North Korea are ongoing and have moved more quickly than expected,” the statement read.

Koreans are really good at math and maybe they sped the process up somehow using these math skills.

Remember: the goal is just a treaty signed ending the war.

That was always the goal of this meeting.

If that happens, then the deal is made as it was planned.

Assuming it is a success, the media is going to try to say that it’s a failure because North Korea isn’t surrendering it’s nuclear program, all it’s Kalashnikovs and kitchen knives, letting American corporations take possession of all the country’s natural resources, crews of Mexicans are brought in to build a McDonald’s and a Starbucks every 2 blocks and NGOs begin dropping off boatloads of Ugandan refugees from the brutal Syrian civil war on the North Korean coast while John Bolton live streams himself masturbating onto Kim’s official desk.

We want just handshakes and smiles and an official end to the war. That’s all. That’s the deal.

The rest of it can all be done later, at a pace that a country that has been isolated from the entire world for 60 years can manage.

Just a few more hours now…
