Federal Judge Brian Cogan ordered the government and lawyers for Nancy Gonzalez to weigh in on the issue and rescheduled the sentencing until Feb. 19.
“I took a look at the statute dealing with having sex with a prisoner and there appears to be a strong argument for federal registration,” Cogan said, adding that Gonzalez apparently was not informed of the issue when she pleaded guilty last year. She faces 10 to 16 months in prison.Gonzalez, 30 admitted sex on numerous occasions with Wilson while he was a prisoner at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
