Spain: Police Officer Injured by Knife-Wielding Man on Morocco Border

A police officer sustained light injuries after apprehending a man wielding a large knife on the border between Morocco and the Spanish enclave of Melilla on Tuesday morning.

According to police sources he shouted “God is Great” and “Al Hoceima, freedom”, referring to a city in northern Morocco in Arabic.

The assailant was taken out by a plastic traffic barrier before colleagues restrained him. The officer injured a finger in the incident which was captured on CCTV.
